Benefits of Virgin Credit Card
Free Purchase Protection Insurance
When it comes to your purchases, regardless of what they are, it is important that you insure them in case anything was ever to happen to them. If you have had the experience of buying a nice expensive electronic, for example, and chose not to purchase the insurance, only to discover later that when it does not work properly you do not get your money back, you understand how important insurance actually is.
Every time you use your Virgin Money Credit Card, the majority of purchases between 50 pounds up to 1,000 pounds are covered against accidental damage and even theft automatically for 100 days after the date of purchase. Accidental damage and theft can be big problems. When you choose to purchase important items with your Virgin credit card you do not have to worry about insuring your purchases, most purchases are automatically insured, which makes things a lot easier for you. If you want to know which purchases are excluded, refer to Virgin Money website for more information.
Free purchase protection insurance includes accidental damage, theft, and robbery. Note that if accidental damage, a robbery, or theft occurs, you will receive the amount you paid for the item with your credit card or 1,000 pounds. The lower price will be chosen. Virgin Money simply makes protection insurance that much simpler for Virgin cardholders.
Free Travel Accident Insurance
Virgin Money also offers its credit card holders free travel accident insurance. When you use your Virgin credit card to pay for travel and flight tickets in full, you will automatically be covered up to 250,000 pounds. You are covered if you have an accident while traveling to or from your destination. In addition, if you are traveling with a partner or your children, the insurance policy automatically covers them as well.
Note that travel accident insurance is secondary insurance and is for cardholders who wish to protect themselves and their immediate family members while they are traveling to and from a particularly destination. This is not a full insurance policy and is only available to cardholders that purchase their travel tickets in full with their Virgin credit card.
The insurance policies only cover insured individuals while they are traveling by public transportation to or from a passenger terminal, in a passenger terminal before boarding and after alighting, traveling by water, air, or land on board a licensed "passenger" carrying conveyance, which included mounting and dismounting onto and off, and while traveling on public transportation to destination.
There are exclusions and limitations that apply to the free travel accident insurance policy.
