The Cashplus Prepaid Gold Master Card is truly an award winning prepaid card and is adjudged by its issuer to being the most awarded prepaid card in Europe. Its awards include the Best New Prepaid Card awarded by Cards International Global Awards 2007, MasterCard Best Cardholder Service 2007, and the ifs/Capgemini Hallmark of Innovation award 2006.
Members may manage their cards and monitor spending through a secure online members' area. Those who aren't near a computer can send a text message to view the last 5 transactions or call the 24hr telephone service to complete a variety of tasks including checking the account balance, reporting a card as lost or stolen, activating a card, viewing last transactions and payment information and changing payment plan.
Being a prepaid card, there's no interest rates charged and card members are not exposed to accumulating debt from card use. MasterCard is a widely accepted network allowing members on travel the full confidence of paying and withdrawing cash from ATMs displaying the MasterCard logo. Transactions in foreign currency attract a 2.75% foreign conversion fee on the amount spent. The card comes with chip & pin technology for added security whenever its used as a means of payment whether in a local store or over the internet.
Applicants are required to pay a £9.95 application fee.
Accounts with no activities (purchases, top-ups) exceeding a total of 120 days incur a £4.95 account maintenance fee. A monthly service fee of £4.95 is deducted from the card account. Members who switch from an ActivePlus account to a Flexiplus account within 30 days of card opening will have the service fee refunded into the card account.
