Capital One Financial Corp. is a financial services company incorporated in 1988 by Richard Fairbank and Nigel Morris both former workers at Signet Banking Corp. Capital One at one time had one of the largest customer information databases in the United States. It had used this to its advantage by incorporating mass mailings as a way of reaching out to customers. Capital One is presently the fourth largest customer to the United States Postal Services. Capital One is popular for its range of credit cards reserved for customers in the sub-prime market (those having below average and no credit). Beside this, Capital One offers personal loans, and retail banking services. It also operates a division in charge of Auto loans.
